✨ Season 14 Finale, Joy in the Messy Middle ✨

Sh!t That Goes On In Our Heads

Podcast for Mental Health Insights, Compassion, and Friendship

This Episode will drop on Tuesday at 3 AM Eastern

πŸ‘‹Hey beautiful humans,

We made it. The end of Season 14 is here, and we want to begin with something simple and heartfelt.

Thank you.
Thank you to our incredible guests who trusted us with their stories, their hearts, their humor, and their pain. Thank you to you, our listeners, who keep showing up with openness, curiosity, compassion, and your own willingness to grow alongside us.

For those who celebrate Thanksgiving, we wish you a warm, safe, and drama-free holiday. And if the holiday season feels tender or complicated, know that you are held here, too. Not every Thanksgiving looks like a postcard. Some are quiet, some are messy, some are lonely, and some are unexpectedly healing. Wherever this finds you, you matter.

Because we are celebrating Thanksgiving here in the United States, we are releasing just one episode this week. It is our Season 14 finale, and it is a conversation straight from our hearts.

Next week, we return to our regular rhythm of two episodes a week, and we cannot wait to share everything that is coming.

🎧 This Week’s Episode

β€œJoy, Boundaries, and the Messy Middle β€” Season 14 Finale”
Drops Tuesday, November 25 at 3 AM ET

This is one of our favorite conversations of the year. Just us, looking back, moving forward, and talking honestly about what this season meant.

πŸš— What’s Up with G-Rex and Dirty Skittles

The holidays tend to stir everything at once. Joy sitting next to grief, laughter sitting next to old wounds, connection sitting next to overwhelm. For G-Rex, this time of year always feels tender. She misses her mom the most right about now. The food, the warmth, the deep belly laugh, the way her mother made holidays feel magical even when the budget was tight. If you feel that ache too, you are not alone.

This is also the first Thanksgiving in five years that G-Rex is not hosting, and she is honestly relieved. Her only assignment is to bring the ham, since turkey and her stomach do not get along, and her wife’s legendary cranberry salad. And yes, she is already dreaming about her Friday leftover sandwich made with ham, brie, and cranberry salad because sometimes joy shows up in the form of a perfect sandwich.

Dirty Skittles and her family hit the road to visit her parents, and G-Rex is so happy she gets that time. Something is grounding about going home and stepping back into a familiar space with familiar people, even when it comes with chaos and everyone talking loudly over each other in the kitchen.

And now, a massive moment for us.

πŸŽ™οΈ Episode Spotlight

Joy, Boundaries, and the Messy Middle β€” Season 14 Finale

This finale is more than a recap. It is a deep, honest, sometimes emotional, sometimes hilarious conversation between two best friends who have walked through a full year of change, growth, and healing.

We talk about the lessons that stayed with us, the boundaries we learned to set and protect, the parts of ourselves that softened, and the parts that became stronger. We talk about the grief that surprised us, the joy that carried us, and the moments that reminded us that healing is not about perfection. It is about honesty, courage, and the willingness to show up for yourself again and again.

We open up about the behind-the-scenes moments you never get to hear, the things we learned the hard way, and the parts of ourselves we are still learning how to love. We talk about what this season awakened in us, what it challenged, and what it gave back.

This episode holds friendship, accountability, humor, exhaustion, hope, and the kind of connection that makes the hard stuff feel a little lighter.

At its core is a reminder we came back to over and over this year:

  • Joy is not something you wait for.
  • Joy is something you let yourself feel, even when life is messy, confusing, or painful.
  • Joy lives in the middle, not just at the finish line.

This finale is for anyone who is healing, rebuilding, trying, resting, or doing the best they can with what they have.

🧩 From the Conversation

πŸ’¬ The thread that tied Season 14 together

This season reminded us that healing is human and imperfect. Every guest showed that growth rarely looks tidy, and that the courage to tell the truth about your story is often what opens the door to real connection. From trauma to reinvention, from chronic illness to self-worth, this season taught us that we do not need to be fixed to be valued, and that joy can find us in the cracks.

πŸ«‚ A quote that stuck with us
β€œEven on your shittiest day, you can still find joy.” β€” G-Rex

πŸ“„ Real Talk from the Hosts

β€œSeason 14 reminded me that boundaries matter. I spent years letting people walk over me, and somewhere in these conversations, I remembered that I am allowed to protect my peace.” β€” G-Rex

β€œWhat I loved most about this season is how every guest reminded us that none of us has everything figured out. We are all learning, all trying, all feeling our way through the dark. Sharing those truths is what makes this more than a podcast. It is community.” β€” Dirty Skittles

πŸ’› Closing Remarks

As we wrap Season 14, we want to leave you with this.

You are doing better than you think.
You are growing in ways you may not see yet.
You are carrying more than people know.
You are not supposed to heal neatly or quickly.
You are only asked to keep going, one breath at a time.

This season taught us that healing is messy, emotional, surprising, and beautiful. That laughter can soften the edges. That connection can bring light into the darkest corners. And that even on days that feel overwhelming, joy still finds a way in.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for walking with us. Thank you for letting this community hold a small part of your story.

With love, gratitude, and all our messy human hearts,
G-Rex and Dirty Skittles
Changing the way we talk about mental health, one honest conversation at a time.
