Starting to Come Out of the Fog 🌫️

Life can be messy, unpredictable, and downright exhausting sometimes. 🌫️ This past week has felt like an uphill battle, full of tough decisions and moments where frustration seemed to overshadow everything else. You know those days where your mind races, your chest tightens, and the world feels too heavy to carry? That’s where I’ve been. Anxiety has been sitting right beside me, whispering doubts and amplifying my worries. 😟

But here’s what I’m learning: even in the middle of the storm, there are tools to help us find clarity. One thing that’s been invaluable is leaning into small, meaningful practices that anchor me in moments of calm.

  • Every day, I open a folder on my phone packed with pictures that make me smile—photos of my wife, my family, and silly snapshots that just warm my heart. 🖼️
  • I listen to music that feels like a hug for my soul, songs that remind me of joy and remind me of hope. 🎶

Not every day is perfect, and that’s okay. Some mornings, I still wake up feeling like the weight of the world is sitting on my chest. But on those days, I try to be gentler with myself. Progress doesn’t have to be a straight line. Some days are harder than others, but each step forward, no matter how small, is worth celebrating. 🌟

I’ve also realized the power of reaching out. I’m not trying to bottle up my feelings anymore—old me would’ve done that, but not now. Now, I’m letting people know where I’m at, whether it’s my wife, my therapist, or my co-host “Dirty Skittles,” whose humor is sometimes the only thing that gets me laughing when life feels too heavy. 😂💬

At 61, I’m still learning so much about managing anxiety, setting boundaries, and honoring my emotions. Honestly, I wish these tools had been part of our education system because they’re just as vital as math or history. Still, it’s never too late to grow.

What keeps me moving forward is gratitude. 🙏

  • I’m thankful for my wife, who keeps me grounded and makes even the hardest days a little brighter.
  • I’m thankful for my therapist, who gives me the tools to navigate challenges as they arise.
  • I’m thankful for “Dirty Skittles,” whose laughter and honesty keep me going.
  • And, most importantly, I’m thankful for all of you, this amazing community we’re building together, where mental health is not just a conversation but a lifeline. 🌈

If you’re struggling, remember: you’re not alone. We’re all finding our way through the fog, one step at a time. And together, we’ll keep moving forward. 💪❤️

Season 9: A Milestone Worth Celebrating! 🎉

We can hardly believe it—Season 9 is officially rolling out this week! 😲 When we first started this podcast, we thought we might only stick with it for an episode or two before calling it quits. Honestly, it felt like a fun experiment at the time, but we never imagined it would evolve into something this meaningful.

Fast forward to today, and here we are: nine seasons deep, still learning, growing, and connecting with each guest who brings their unique voice and story to the table.
