“When the Red Flags Fly: Krista’s Mental Health Journey, Part 1.”
⏰ Mark your calendars: The episode drops Tuesday, 12/24/24, at 3 AM (EST).
And here’s some exciting news—next week is our 100th episode! 🎉
We’ll be wrapping up 2024 with a special celebration: reflecting on our journey, honoring YOU—our incredible listeners—and sharing our vision for an even brighter 2025. Don’t miss it! ✨
Letting Your Inner Child Out to Play! 🎠
Every year since we moved to Upstate New York, my wife and I have made a tradition of visiting New York City just before Christmas. This year, as always, the city didn’t disappoint—but something felt different this time.
We stayed in Midtown, right in the center of the holiday magic. Surrounded by twinkling lights and bustling streets, we explored every corner we could: indulging in warm pastries from incredible bakeries, savoring fresh delights at an oyster bar, and walking for miles to soak in the sights. ❄️✨
But what truly made this year special wasn’t the scenery or the food. It was the feeling of letting my inner child out to play. For the first time in a while, I felt free—laughing with my wife, striking up conversations with strangers, and embracing every moment with joy and curiosity. We even braved the freezing cold to see Annie! 🥶 And yes, it was so, so cold, but that’s why you layer up, right?
This trip wasn’t just a fun getaway; it was a reminder of how important it is to reconnect with that playful, carefree side of yourself. My wife and I are preparing to celebrate 30 years of marriage this March, and I couldn’t feel more grateful—for her, for the life we’ve built, and for the mental health journey that’s brought me here. Through this podcast, I’ve gained so many tools to nurture my mental well-being, and I feel more comfortable in my own skin than ever before.
Dirty Skittles and I are both on this journey of self-discovery and growth, and it’s made us better people—not just for ourselves but for each other and for all of you. Together, we’ve created something truly special with this podcast, and this week, we want to help you reconnect with your inner child too.
Whether it’s dancing in your kitchen, building a snowman, or just laughing for no reason, we’ve got a guide to help you find that spark again. Because let’s face it: sometimes, we all just need to play. 🧸✨
